The French Alps are the portions of the Alps mountain range that stand within France, located in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur regions. While some of the ranges of the French Alps are entirely in France, others, such as the Mont Blanc massif, are shared with Switzerland and Italy.
When I landed in France the first place I discovered was Morzine. Although I still wish to see more of the area, I have to say its stunning! The Alps in general is a place of tranquility and lots of activities to do both in winter and summer.
If you're looking for a place with scenery- I would say hurry and book in time for summer or a snowy winter! With its stunning views and beautiful lakes- you will absolutely love it!
One thing I love about the alps is their beautiful wooden design chalets- they are so cozy and look beyond alpine views. If you are thinking on booking a trip here, you may find some great deals and a great chalet host which will attend to your holiday needs.
The snow may be melting a little but wait for the heat! Here you can hit up to 40 degrees plus from what I recall when I first came here- it was scorching! Hot or not, you can surely enjoy a dip close by as there are tons of lakes to enjoy nearby.
Although millions visit France for skiing and snowboarding, you can enjoy great adventures as there is still lots to do here in the summer.

CYCLING IN THE ALPS
If you love a good adventure on two wheels why not grab a bike for hire and challenge those mountains! There are lots of cycling events going on here that involve downhill mountain biking *you might need a ski lift to get to the top- so if you don't like heights then maybe stick to casual cycling around :)

The Alps has so much of everything it makes a great holiday for everyone. You can enjoy chilling out in local coffee shops and soak in the weather. The villages here are just stunning. Its on my bucket list to go back again soon!

Bustling Annecy is a 30-minute drive away. Non-skiers or people who don’t want to ski every day should definitely make a trip to the gorgeous lakeside town. It’s close enough to go there for a few hours – we spent the evening walking around the beautiful town followed by dinner at La Voile in the Imperial Palace, where Winston Churchill, Edith Piaf and Charlie Chaplin all stayed in the past. The hotel has fabulous views of the lake and you can stop off here for a night en route to La Clusaz or Le Grand Bornand.
I lived in Annecy for almost 2 years. Annecy has a real calmness about it that within minutes of arriving in the town, I feel refreshed almost instantly. The boutiques here are so cute here almost picturesque you will surely find plenty of souvenirs, wines and cheeses to take home with you on your travels.
The whole town is embedded with flowers and has the most immaculate feel to it have never seen! Summer is just beautiful here. Enjoy a boat ride on pedal boats with your friends and family or dine out on the lake on a restaurant boat which costs about eighty euros. You may think that's pricey- but it's definitely worth the money now isn't it? If your not the type to enjoy being at sea *well its only a lake ha ha- then you can spend the afternoon soaking up the sun and there is plenty of walking distance with beautiful scenery of mountains that sit in the background.
If your a lover of coffee shops and love the outdoor lifestyle then this place could be for you.
You can enjoy sitting outside with a French waiter who will bring the perfect coffee after you have spent the day sightseeing. I have to say they are all smartly dressed and they deliver top class service . You will find one or two speak English for the tourism so not to worry about learning the language too much. You will hear many cultures, people from America and other parts of the world. The restaurants here are top class quality and they don't give meals by halves- you will surely get your money's worth so make sure you add that to your bucket list!
Immerse yourself into trying some french food- you might enjoy the moules and frites which are mussels and chips- quite tasty!
The shops are great here - although there's a mixture od Grande Names, You will certainly be happy to find a bargain here, so not to worry about bringing too much clothing for your holidays. The alps are perfect for a road trip in fact, a week will just fly by as there is so much to discover and the time will seem like there's never enough. There are hundreds of pretty villages around with a mixture of sun, sea and a barbecue on the go!
You can hire a car to get the best of your trip and make sure you visit other areas - you wont be disappointed! France in general is an outdoors lifestyle- french are sporty active people at all ages and they certainly like to make the most of it in summer.
South east of France you will find the Alps sitting on the borders of Switzerland. There are so many beautiful cities down here to explore that a tour de France is much needed either by driving or cycling- be sure to see as much as you can!
